Here is Dr Bob's Prescription for the 15 Must Sees  in Portugal:

1. Bom Jesus do Monte, Braga

2. Citania de Briteiros

3. Guimareis

4. Porto: Bus Trips on the YELLOW Bus, which allows a river trip and a visit to a port wine lodge, as well as 3 separate trips around Porto and its environs. Boat trip - but take the boat from Vila Real north to Pinhao (excellent scenery). The lower river is just boring. River Bank - from the Ribeira west.

5. Coimbra

6. Conimbriga (Roman site)

7. Alcobaca

8. Fatima (a bit doubtful about this one?)

9. Tomar

10. Batalha - the Battle Abbey

11. Sao Jorge: Interpretation Centre of the Battle of Aljubarrota

15. Lisbon - Tile Museum. Monasterio dos Jeronimos with adjacent River Bank. Torre de Belem. Monument to the Discoveries. Tram ride

Please note that we didn't get to the Sand Island at Tavira due to our Road Traffic Accident just west of Lagos, and boat trips were not available at Lagos given the time of year.
