Ingrid's Camping in Romania & Bulgaria

Ingrid Hyttilä
Summer 2011

Ingrid Hyttilä and her partner from Finland were in Romania and Bulgaria in the summer of 2011 in a caravan. Using our campsite lists as a guide, they made the following remarks based on their experience.

ROMANIA

Sapanta: Camping Poieni. Drive to the Merry Cemetery in Sapanta and drive along the same street about 2 km to the camping. It's in the garden of an inn. They have very tasty food in their restaurant.

Fundu Moldovei: Camping Vuurplats. Very nice and clean, with friendly and helpful hosts. Camping by Black Sea. Nice beach directly from camping.

Bran: Camping Vampire. Near the castle in Bran; nice.

Sigishoara: Camping Central. We tried first to go to Camping Central. It wasn't open and the place is not suitable for any campervan or caravan - only for tents. The places are too small with too much trees.

Sigishoara: Camping Pensiune Piscina Aquaria. The camping is small but it's a short way to the old town from there.

BULGARIA

Camping Veliko Tarnovo - owned by a British couple.

Camping Laguna - very good food in their restaurant, with a lovely view to the beach.

WARNING!!! Camping Gradina in Sozopol was a disaster - a real dump!!! The toilets and showers are a disaster. We didn´t go there; we went to Camping Kavatsi instead.
