NEW CAMPING AND CARAVANNING FEDERATION IN TURKEY

Barry and Margaret Williamson
September 2011

Koray Tezcan, the former President of the now defunct Turkish Camping and Caravanning Club (TKKD), has sent us the following email:

"Dear Friends,

We have established a new Camping and Caravanning Federation in Turkey. I was again the president of one association in Istanbul until the federation was established. After that, I resigned and left the presidency to my General Secretary, Erdal Ötügen, who is the actual president of the new Federation (UKKF).

He organized a new website for UKKF. There you can find also in English, French and German versions and the list of campsites in Turkey. Once you sent round a campsites list in different countries with the web site addresses. It was very useful. Would you please inform your friends of our new website which is: http://www.ukkf.org/

I'm still in Alanya but not in Sedre camping where we have meet each other, because it's closed.

Best regards

Koray Tezcan"

UKKF = Ulusal Kamp ve Karavan Federasyonu = National Camping and Caravanning Federation.

The laudable aims of the new Federation include the following to which we would all subscribe. Erdal Ötügen writes:

"Dear caravanner friends, see yourself, how long have you been caravanners? What have you done for this lifestyle that you have chosen? If you are not a member of one of the camping associations, what can you expect

Dear manufacturer friends, could you look back, how much money have you budgeted for advertisement of the development and the introduction of the camping from which you have been earning a lot?

Dear campsite owners and managers, do you know what the campers expect from you? Clean toilets, grass ground and some flowers instead of dusty ground. Is it too difficult and expensive to do these?"
