Turkish Tolls on Highways and Bridges

Don Madge
September 2011

Don, planning to return to Turkey for the winter of 2011/12, shares the following very useful information on the new card system for paying road tolls in Turkey. We can't have been the first, and certainly not the last, to be caught out by the new system on the Izmir ring road.

"For those planning to visit Turkey, the following information might be useful. The road you are most likely to use if you visit in winter is the Izmir ring road and the Izmir-Aydin road.

If you don't use the motorway and you get lost in Izmir, just follow the signs for Aydin.

The site I got this from, Turkey Travel Planner, has a great deal of very useful info on Turkey and ferries to the Greek Islands."
