GERMANY – NEW FERRY ACROSS THE ELBE

Since mid-August a new ferry service has started across the mouth of the River Elbe, between Cuxhaven and Brunsbuettel. The two ferries 'Grete' and 'Anne-Marie' make the 90-minute crossing several times a day. A single fare for a motorhome + driver (up to 3.5 tons and up to 7 m in length) costs less than 50 Euros.  

Access to this Elbe crossing is via good main roads and motorways on both sides. 

Using this new ferry enables the motorhomer to avoid Hamburg en route travelling to or from Denmark.
