John
(Giannis) Karvelis has written that a Camper Stop with facilities for
motorhomes has been built at his long-established beach café, named ΕΝ ΠΛΩ (En Plo meaning
On Board). It is on the shore of the Gulf of Corinth at Nikoleika Beach, between
Aigio and Diakopto (5 km from Aigio and 47 km from the port of Patras).
The café/snack bar is seasonal (May to
October) but the Camper Stop will remain open all year, since John lives there,
so camping (as well as motorhome storage) is possible year-round.
Dogs are allowed. There is a
mini-market 100 m away.
John speaks English and French; other
staff offer German and Dutch.
The Camper Stop provides secure shady
parking, fresh water, waste water disposal, WC, hot showers and a BBQ place,
all for 10 euros per day. Optional electric hook-ups cost an extra 3 euros.
There is also a special offer for 2016
to celebrate the new activity: Free parking for customers spending over 20
euros in the café/snack bar.
We wish John every success with this
new venture. More camping places open in the winter are needed around the
Peloponnese: any enterprising Greeks reading this?
